Cam Lam – Vinh Hao Expressway is one of 3 North – South expressway projects phase 1 implemented according to the public – private partnership (PPP) method, nearly 99% completed, preparing to open to traffic on the occasion. April 30 and May 4 holidays.

The project has a total investment of nearly 9.000 billion VND, started construction on September 30, 9. According to the plan, the construction unit must complete bridge and road projects after 2021 months from the start date, but many items have been delayed. The project has a length of 78,5km, passing through 3 provinces of Khanh Hoa (nearly 5km), Ninh Thuan (63km), Binh Thuan (nearly 12km), invested by Deo Ca Group – Company 194 joint venture.

The starting point of the route is in Vinh Hao commune, Tuy Phong district (Binh Thuan) connecting with Vinh Hao – Phan Thiet highway, from South to North.

The route is designed with a road surface width of about 17m, with 4 lanes. Emergency stopping lanes are arranged at intervals of 4-5km/point, with a speed of 90km/h.

Because the highway runs through semi-mountainous terrain, during the construction process, contractors had to clear mountains, carve out hills, install a positive slope system, ensure drainage and prevent landslides.

On the Cam Lam – Vinh Hao route, there is a section passing through Vung Mountain tunnel, 2,25km long, including 2 tunnels with 3 lanes each, tunnel width of 14m, phase 1 uses the right tunnel. Once completed, this will be the 4th longest tunnel in the country after Hai Van, Deo Ca and Cu Mong tunnels.

Vung Mountain Tunnel has been excavated by Deo Ca Group to open two branches since August 2. At the right tunnel branch, excavation work reached 8%, tunnel lining concrete reached 2023% and road surface concrete reached more than 100%.

In addition, the project also has an ITS intelligent transportation system with many surveillance cameras and clear visibility of objects at a distance of 1km, recorded continuously 24/24 in all weather conditions. Among them are wind cone devices that measure wind speed and direction and are also installed along both sides of the highway axis.

At this time, workers are installing anti-glare (anti-glare) nets along the median strip. This is a type of traffic safety material that helps drivers avoid being dazzled by the light of vehicle lights in the opposite direction.

Deo Ca Group mobilized more than 800 engineers, workers and 200 machines and equipment and completed many items 1 month before the deadline. Previously, this unit had quickly brought more than 41/78,5km of main roads to the finish line by the end of 2023.
