On December 20, 2022, HHV and Deo Ca Tunnel Management Enterprise cooperated with Fire prevention & rescue police departments of Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa province to hold a fire fighting and rescue drill level 3A at Deo Ca tunnel.

 Firefighting and rescue forces are on duty

The assumption of the situation is at 10:00 a.m., on December 20, 2022, a truck with the control plate 51D-XXXX with a tonnage of 3.5 tons carrying rags suddenly caught fire when it reached the point of Km4+700, 885m from the north tunnel door. The truck driver suffered minor burns on his legs and hands and needed assistance.

After detecting the incident, the Operations Center implemented rescue plan 3A, and regulated traffic to ensure space for special vehicles to approach the scene. Firefighting and rescue forces deployed acting teams, giving priority to saving victims and taking them to the emergency, and at the same time guiding people to get out of the fire area to minimize damage to people and property.

Fire and Rescue Force on duty

At the end of the rehearsal, the team leader issued an order to open the tunnel. Mr. Hoang Xuan Chien – Deputy Head of the Police Department of Fire Prevention & Rescue, Khanh Hoa Provincial Police, praised the professionalism of the fire protection force of the Deo Ca Tunnel Management Enterprise. He also pointed out the points that need to improve.

Through the drill, the Enterprise checks the equipment of fire prevention and fighting at Deo Ca tunnel to ensure that all the facilities are always ready, well implementing the motto of 4 on-site: “Commander on-site, the human forces on-site, the vehicles on-site, and equipment on-site”. This activity improves the capacity of commanding and coordination with other forces to deal with large fires, especially the complicated fires inside the tunnels.

Previously, on December 15, 2022, Cu Mong Tunnel Management Enterprise held a fire fighting and rescue drill level 3A at Cu Mong tunnel. This is an opportunity for the Operations Center to review the on-site firefighting forces in the condition that the traffic volume will increase during the upcoming Lunar New Year.
