(Dan Tri) – The Mai Son – National Highway 45 expressway has a total length of 63.37km, passing through Ninh Binh and Thanh Hoa. The project has a total investment amount of 12,111 billion VND, with a scale of 6 lanes, expected to be completed before December 31.

Mai Son – National Highway 45 Expressway is one of three component projects of the North-South Expressway project in the East and must be completed by the end of 2022 under the direction of the Government.

According to the Ministry of Transport leaders, the project Mai Son – National Highway 45, with a length of 63.37km, has now completed all the site clearance work. The output value from the commencement to September 26 is more than 5,000 billion VND, equivalent to 70.31%. The bridge item has completed the lower structure. The upper system is under construction. The total bridge output reaches 90% of the contract. The tunnel section has completed 1/2 of the tunnel (Tam Diep tunnel, currently completing the lighting system). The rest of the Thung Thi tunnel casts concrete for the tunnel shell. The total output of the tunnel is 90% of the contract.

September 27, package 11 was completed, the earliest of the five bidding packages of the Mai Son – National Highway 45 expressway project. On the construction site, contractors are focusing on constructing asphalt pavements. The output value is estimated at 40%.

It is expected that by November 31, the plastic carpet work will be basically completed in package 12.

Package 12 for construction has a length of 6.6km in Thanh Hoa province, passing through 3 Ha Trung district communes, Ha Tan, Ha Tien, and Ha Linh. It is the bidding package with the construction of the longest tunnel through the mountains of the North-South expressway project, section Mai Son – National Highway 45.

Thung Thi tunnel, with a 680m, is the most extended tunnel construction section of Mai Son highway – National Highway 45.

Mr. Tran Van Toan – Commander of Package 12 – said that the Thung Thi tunnel had completed about 90% of the work volume. Currently, on the right side of the tunnel, the contractor is constructing the cement concrete pavement, which is expected to be completed by September 30.

Workers are constructing the last part of the left tunnel shell, which is expected to be completed on October 25. On the construction site of package 12, there are always about 250 workers divided into three shifts/day, continuous construction, to ensure the project’s schedule.

In package 13, the total length of the route is 10.4km, passing through Ha Trung, Vinh Loc, Yen Dinh, and Thieu Hoa districts of Thanh Hoa province.

The expressway’s starting point is contiguous to the endpoint of package 12 in Ha Trung district, Thanh Hoa province; The endpoint is contiguous to the beginning of package 14 in the territory of Thieu Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province. Currently, package 13 is in charge of building three large bridges, including two overpasses and one underground tunnel.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Trung, a staff in charge of package 13, said: “The road part has completed about 70% of the work volume, and the bridge construction part has been completed about 90%”.

Vinh An bridge crossing the Ma River (Thanh Hoa) with a length of 475m has completed the bridge deck. The contractor is focusing on construction on both sides of the bridge. It is expected that on October 15, it will be open and can move on the bridge.

The completed expressway will shorten the journey from Ninh Binh province to Thanh Hoa, open up investment opportunities in the North and Central regions, and overcome traffic congestion and traffic accidents on the national highway. 1A; creating conditions for developing industrial parks and tourism in the provinces along the expressway.
